DESCRIPTION:This 12-week course being held at The Cedarburg Cultural Center is designed to take participants on a journey of discovering and recovering their creative self. It is not intended just for artists\; it is for everyone - from working creatives to untapped creatives to people just looking to make a meaningful shift in their lives. It is a self-reflective program that maintains space and time for participants to engage in creative processes and artplay alongside one another and to intentionally explore aspects of themselves.\n\n \n\nAre you searching for your True North? Yearning for a truer expression of yourself artistically\, in relation to others\, or in other areas of your life?\n\nDo you want to:\n\n\n Push past perfectionism\n Kickstart your art or spark your side hustle\n Make a personal or professional breakthrough\n Reinvent your relationship with your inner critic\n Revive a long-dormant project or desire\n Connect and find community with others who want to live creatively\n Engage in self-care + self-discovery\n\n\nThis Course is for You!\n\n \n\nEach week participants are introduced to a focused theme and guided in Art play\, a creative experiential activity to explore the theme. Themes include safety\, identity\, personal power\, integrity\, possibility\, abundance\, connection\, faith\, strength\, compassion\, self-protection and autonomy.\n\nThis course is directly inspired by The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron\, an experiential book intended to teach people to process life through acts of creativity. The course is led by Alice Struck\, Carol Gengler\, Julee Ashlock\, Nancy Lohmiller and Kate Mann. All leaders are experienced in the Artist's Way and in understanding the transformational nature of art. This course should not be seen as therapy or a substitute for it.\n\nStudent materials needed: The Artist's Way book by Julia Cameron and 1 Sketchbook (unlined\, approximately 9 x12" or larger). Most other art supplies are included in the course fee.
