Since early childhood she has shared a passion for creating a variety of art forms with her mom. After college in the 80's on a whim she started painting bright colors on big canvases to fill the blank walls of her apartment. Carrie would paint outdoors at first\, which allowed her the freedom to apply paint to canvases in lively ways that expressed energy. In 2017 she joined the Cedarburg Artist Guild which has helped her grow as an artist and develop many friendships. In 2021 she participated in her first Plein Air event at Paint Cedarburg and this fall will be her 5th year participating in the Covered Bridge Art Studio Tours. Her practice has centered on taking colors at their peak saturation\, playing with different techniques to create vibrant and stimulating compositions. Her inspiration is drawn from nature and farmers markets with fresh picked produce and buckets of flowers.
